"I wanted to write a book that would educate users on the production-related questions and problems typically faced when trying to publish content to the web," said Andy. "This book is really designed for anyone who uses compression as part of their job - whether that's video editors who need to deliver DVD-ready material or web producers who need to put video online as part of their site." Andy Beach

"For the individual new to compressing video to DVD or to their various media players whether they be iPods, Play stations or mobile phones; for the experienced user still figuring out the best way to deliver media content to a client; for the You Tube user who frets at the loss of resolution when uploading, Andy Beach's Real World Compression will go a long ways towards alleviating much of the insecurity and indecision that often goes hand in hand with field of compression. High marks for this book."

SF Cutters is the World's first Apple Final Cut Pro User Group forming in March of 2000.

That's right, the concept of a DV User Group, complete with networking, screenings and tech info centered around Apple Final Cut Pro was born right here in San Francisco. Currently there are over 100 chapters of Final Cut Pro and ProApps User Groups based upon our model. We are proud to be the founders of this exciting movement, dubbed in 1999 as "The DV Revolution". Viva!

SF Cutters meets regularly in San Francisco and the Bay Area Jan thru Nov, the schedule may vary from year to year.
